Whether it’s just for the day or for an extended cruising vacation, escaping on the water is unlike any other pastime. Finding a new yacht to engage in the pastime can be just as thrilling as time spent on board. Below we review 10 new yachts for the new boating season, ranging in style and function. If your boating interests include fishing, long-range cruising or daytripping and entertaining, chances are there’s a boat here for you.

Tiara Sport 43 LE

Tiara Sport 43 LE

Comfort while the anchor is deployed on Tiara Yachts’ Sport 43 LE is a focus for this 43-footer. The portside “terrace” is a push-of-a-button, expandable extension from the cockpit. A cockpit entertainment center has two loungers that can spin 360 degrees and have flip-up footrests. Forward on the 43 LE, there is a queen berth in the forepeak and sunpads on the foredeck.

The 43 LE flies on the water at a top speed of 51.1 knots. That’s thanks to the triple Mercury Racing 450R outboards; Triple Yamaha 425 hp XTOs are another option, and fuel capacity is 400 gallons.

Ferretti Yachts 500

Space is not an issue for the Ferretti Yachts 500: The flydeck has 136 square feet with an aft-deck overhang; there’s 82 square feet for the cockpit with a table that can convert to one of many sunpads aboard and a transom sofa; and there’s 67 square feet of swim platform. Headroom in the aft deck, the galley and the salon varies from 6 feet, 5 inches to 6 feet, 7 inches. A three-stateroom layout with two showers is standard; a two-stateroom option is available, too.

The 500′s reported top speed is 29 to 30 knots, powered by twin 542 break-horsepower Cummins QSB 6.7 diesels; cruise speed is reportedly 24 to 25 knots.

43 Wallytender

The 43 Wallytender is unique relative to its predecessors in its center cockpit that can be outfitted with an optional galley module. High wrap-around glazing encompasses the cockpit while leaving room for side decks and providing more weather protection and privacy. A cuddy cabin can accommodate a couple under the foredeck. Twin 380 hp Volvo Penta Aquamatic D6 Duoprop sterndrives is standard power, pushing it to a reported 35-knot top hop.

As for fishing, this Riviera yacht has hydraulic outriggers, a transom livewell and a 98-square-foot cockpit. Three staterooms are belowdecks: a queen berth forward, Pullman berths to starboard and a pair of twin berths that can also form a double berth to port.

The Absolute Yachts Navetta 64 has a trawler-inspired look and the planing-hull performance. The Navetta 64′s master stateroom is a short walk from the salon on the main deck. It has a forward-facing berth and en suite head and shower in the bow.

Standard power is twin 900 hp Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200 diesels, but most owners have opted for twin 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 diesels. Top speed with the latter is 28 knots.

The Azimut Magellano 25 Metri measures just under 83 feet with a 29-foot, 10-inch beam, creating space for four staterooms accommodating eight guests. The master stateroom is amidships with hullside windows, forward of amidships is the VIP, and there are two guest staterooms to port and to starboard with twin berths that convert to doubles. The 25 Metri hits a reported 25-knot top speed and has a cruising speed of 19 knots with a 350-nautical mile range.

Entertaining guests is a focal point for the CL Yachts CLB88. The yacht’s flybridge overhang protects guests dining al fresco at the cockpit’s teak table. The space also allows for additional loose chairs to accommodate more guests for sundowners. The motoryacht’s nearly 360 degrees of glass provides ocean views from all points in the salon, and a designer-inspired dining table is forward and to port, expanding to accommodate 8 guests.

The CLB88 has a four-stateroom, four-head layout. Power is twin 1,600 hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesels, providing a 20-knot cruise speed and a 25-knot top hop.

The galley belowdecks has a sandalwood Corian countertop, a two-burner Kenyon electric cooktop, cabinet-mounted Samsung microwave and two Isotherm fridge-freezer drawers with an ice maker.
