The Hanover 377 is a Brazilian-built supersize bowrider that falls in the middle of the company’s 12-model lineup, ranging from 25 to 52 feet length overall. The 377 has a black fiberglass hardtop with forward-leaning supports that accent a sleek profile, giving the boat the impression of being in motion even when it’s static. Hull sides slashed in black conceal the many windows that account for the bright interior belowdecks. The outside amenities for entertaining include twin L-shaped lounges in the cockpit and three lounge seats with adjustable backrests in what Hanover calls the bow “solarium.”
Also aft are a Kenyon grill, a fridge, a sink and twin bar stools. At the helm, there’s a flat-black dash (read no reflections) with controls for the MerCruiser shifters and Lenco trim tabs, the optional joystick and two 11-inch Raymarine displays. The 377’s twin bucket seats are nicely upholstered and fully adjustable.
Inside the cabin are a few surprises for a boat this size, including 6-foot-5-inch headroom and a lounge forward that converts to a queen berth. There is also a galley with a microwave, an induction cooktop, a fridge and stowage. The enclosed head has a 27-by-36-inch stall shower with teak seating and 6-foot-2-inch headroom. Aft, the guest stateroom has a wider-than-queen berth (65 inches) and 9-foot headroom.
Underway, the Hanover 377 is fast, fun and well-mannered. With the upgraded 350 hp MerCruiser 6.2MPIs paired to Bravo Three drives, the boat topped out above 37 knots, while its handling felt like a boat half its size. There was zero cavitation in spite of cranking the wheel hard into turns. At a cruise speed of 20 knots, the 377 achieved nearly 1 nautical mile per gallon.
Owners can also choose 350 hp and 400 hp diesel-engine options from MerCruiser and Volvo Penta, respectively.
Solidly built from the hand-laid fiberglass hull to the through-bolted rails, and finished in fine fabrics with a choice of trims and colors, the Hanover 377 is a delight-to-drive express cruiser from the dock to the sea and back.
How it Started
Hanover Yachts launched in 1984. It started off as a fiberglass manufacturer. By 1994, it switched to boatbuilding. Today, there are 12 models ranging from 25 to 52 feet long.
Outboard Option
The Hanover 377’s standard outboards are twin 300 hp Mercury Verados, with twin 350 hp Verados also available. Triple Verado outboards, from 250 hp to 400 hp, are also an option.
On an Even Keel
For owners with family or crew who want an even more comfortable ride, the Hanover 377 has an optional MC Quick Gyro X10, which reportedly reduces roll by up to 95 percent.
