Johnson Yachts recently introduced its newest model, the Johnson 110 Skylounge, penned by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design. The yacht’s namesake sky lounge – also referred to as her distinctive design feature – offers an additional indoor/outdoor entertainment area for her 10 guests that naturally offers unobstructed vistas.

The sky lounge’s interior includes an L-shaped settee and coffee table to starboard, opposite of which is its bar-style galley with granite countertops that’s perfect for snacks and sundowners thanks to three bar stools, a gas barbecue, a refrigerator/ice maker, a microwave and a sink. The area opens to an aft deck, where owners can put lounge chairs or a table for alfresco dining.

While there’s a helm station with two Airtex pilot seats forward and to port in the sky lounge, the raised pilothouse above it separates operations from guest experience. Plus, the pilothouse allowed Dixon to add a third level of what the builder calls its hallmark smoked-glass, vertical windows.

Aft, guests can enjoy the hydraulic teak swim platform by day, and up a few steps an alfresco dinner at the cockpit dining table with a breeze in the early evening. Finally, they may want to settle down for a movie on the salon’s L-shaped settee to port opposite a 47-inch Samsung LCD TV. The area’s Bose home-theater system should come in handy as well. And fully forward on this deck, the full-beam owner’s suite’s king-size berth faces panoramic windows. His-and-her side tables match the his-and-her sinks in the head, which is positioned forward of the berth and slightly descended to preserve the view.

Belowdecks, guest accommodations include an amidships, full-beam VIP with a queen-size berth and hull-side windows. This stateroom actually offers more personal space than the master, with his-and-her heads that share a centerline shower abaft the berth.

The remaining three guest staterooms are also en suite, and all five heads come with marble countertops, plus marble soles at the owners’ request. The guest stateroom to port has a double berth, while the stateroom to starboard has two twins. The final guest stateroom forward has an aft-facing queen-size berth. And every stateroom has cedar-lined hanging lockers, LED lighting, a Fusion stereo system and Samsung LCD TVs of various dimensions with Apple TV.

Finally, the 110 Skylounge’s crew quarters include a captain’s cabin with a double berth and a second cabin with twins, as well as a galley, washer, dryer and a dinette for four.

As for performance, this yacht’s twin 1,925 hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesels push her to a reported 22-knot top speed. She’s also equipped with ABT zero-speed fin stabilizers and a Seakeeper 35 gyrostabilizer.

While Johnson Yachts is proud of the bones of this new mega-yacht, the builder ultimately wants future 110 Skylounge owners to dream big custom dreams for what Johnson hopes is an inspiring canvas. Learn more here.
