Monte Carlo Yachts in Italy is promoting the MCY 70 Skylounge, the first model in a series of Skylounge designs to come.
The MCY 70 Skylounge has interior and exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard, which the shipyard—based on customer requests—tasked with creating a vessel suitable for cruising year-round.
“We were inspired by the idea of creating a yacht for all seasons,” Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard stated in a press release. “The new MCY 70 Skylounge was designed with all the possible comforts to be a home away from home, enjoyable throughout the year, and one that offers the owner a peaceful place to be shared with family and friends.”
The MCY 70 Skylounge has an enclosed flybridge with a single helm chair, a guest relaxation area and 360-degree views. Aft, glass sliders open onto a sunbathing area.
A glass staircase leads down to the main deck, which owners can customize. The standard layout includes a seating area and day head aft, with a galley and indoor dining forward. Far aft, there is alfresco dining in the cockpit.
Belowdecks are four staterooms for eight guests. The ensuite, full-beam master is amidships, the ensuite VIP is forward, and a pair of twin-berth staterooms are between the master and VIP, sharing one head. Quarters for two crew are aft.
With twin 1,300-horsepower MAN V-8 engines, the MCY 70 Skylounge has a cruising speed of 22 knots and a top hop of 26 knots, according to Monte Carlo Yachts.
What’s the interior décor package on the MCY 70 Skylounge? Ivory metallic and charcoal-gray wood panels alternate with glass surfaces and white, glossy marble. Soles are durmast oak, and vertical panels are made of walnut.
