Van Der Valk shipyard in the Netherlands says construction on the 111-foot custom motoryacht Lady Lene is continuing on pace in a “Covid-secure environment,” with delivery scheduled for early 2022.
The yard just joined the aluminum hull and superstructure on the trideck, which is being built for existing Van Der Valk clients. Guido de Groot did the interior and exterior design, and made the yacht wheelchair-accessible with an elevator that connects all decks. All the soles will be flush.
Accommodations are for 10 guests. The owner’s stateroom will be on the lower deck, with the VIP stateroom on the bridge deck. The main deck has an open-plan lounge and dining area, and the owners have requested what Van Der Valk calls “very high ceilings.”
Also contributing to the project are YachtCreators, Ginton Naval Architects, Diana Yacht Design and Hull Vane.
Will Lady Lene have stabilizers? Yes. Plans call for twin Seakeepers along with a Humphree electric fin system. Van Der Valk is also installing a Hull Vane appendage to reduce resistance while underway.
