Every once in a while, I come across a vessel that’s a near-perfect blend of form and function. The Mag Bay 33 is such a boat. It descends from Cabo Yachts, a legacy brand. Mag Bay’s founder, Mike Howarth, also co-founded Cabo and Pacific Seacraft. He tapped Michael Peters to design the aggressively styled 33, which has a twin-stepped, deep-V hull form (22 degrees deadrise). Built in the high desert of Adelanto, California, the 33 comes from optimal environs for laminating the solid fiberglass hull form. Twin 300 hp Yamahas are standard; twin 350s are optional.
