Pearl Yachts is debuting a new model, the 80, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She fills a gap in the builder’s three-model line between a 65-footer and a 90-footer. The yacht is a collaboration between naval architect Bill Dixon and designer Kelly Hopper, who worked on the exterior and interior, respectively.
The yacht’s interior focuses on maximizing volume, natural light and customization. Regarding that final bit, the 80 will be available with three different interior styles to choose from, including “taupe,” “studio” and “luxury.” Large side windows help to keep all three layouts drenched in natural light. The yacht’s salon is connected to the cockpit via an electric doorway, where guests will find a teak-and-corian dining table and comfortable seating areas. Food for that table will be prepared in a forward galley that has a rise-and-fall panel if privacy is desired.
On the boat’s flybridge there is a twin-seat helm station forward, and amenities such as sofas, an open area with chaise lounges and a bar.
She is powered by twin 1,800 hp MAN V12 engines that will give it an enviable top speed of 35 knots, and a cruise that hovers right around 26 knots. Cruising range is 300 nautical miles at that speed, a lengthy jaunt for most any cruiser, but one you can do in great comfort and style aboard this Pearl.
