Stallion, a 92-foot Pershing 9X with a four-stateroom layout and a 42-knot top hop, is currently listed with Denison Yachting for $8.75 million. The 2022 build has accommodations for eight guests, plus three crew, and it comes with a transferrable engine warranty until 2027.

Teak stairs flanking Stallion’s swim platform lead up to the cockpit, which is outfitted with a lounge pad aft. Forward is an L-shaped settee facing aft and a table. Add two loose chairs and there’s room to accommodate eight for dinner under the stars.

Sliding glass doors tuck away to form a wide-open main deck with unimpeded sightlines from the cockpit to the helm station forward. The salon’s U-shaped sofa is to starboard. There is seating for about six guests. A wet bar and three loose stools are positioned forward and to port, just abaft the three helm seats on centerline.

Stairs in the cockpit lead up to the 92-footer’s open and low-profile flybridge where guests can enjoy relaxing on the three-person sun pad just abaft the three-seat upper helm station. Aft, a six-person C-shaped settee and two fixed folding tables provide additional seating and a great spot for alfresco dining. Simply close the stairway doors for more privacy.

Stallion’s four staterooms all reside belowdecks with an amidships, full-beam owners’ stateroom with en suite head and his-and-hers vanities, separated by a glass enclosed shower. There’s a forepeak VIP stateroom with a double berth with en suite head, and two additional guest staterooms are to port and starboard and forward of the master stateroom amidships–each with an en suite head and two single berths.

The galley on this 92-footer is also belowdecks–aft near the crew quarters. Miele appliances include an oven, a four-burner electric cooktop, a microwave, a freezer and a full-size refrigerator. It also has a sink and a dishwasher.

The foredeck is the final entertainment space onboard Stallion. It features a three-person sun pad, a forward-facing four-person bench seat and an aft-facing four-person C-shaped settee.

Twin 2,638 hp MTU M96L diesels combine to produce more than 5,200 hp, providing an impressive 42-knot top hop and a sporty cruise speed of 35 knots. The engines recently underwent 500-hour servicing.

Other notable features onboard this Pershing 9X include a tender garage with space for a Williams Sportjet 345 tender and a PWC, two Seakeeper 9 gyrostabilizers, two 28 kW Kohler generators, Xenta Joystick/Steering System, Chiller A/C System, a washer and dryer and two waterproof cameras interfaced with the helm station.

From the Yachting Archive: Pershing 9X Review

“They are 40-plus-knot performance delivered with rooster-tail ostentation. They’re for blasting over to the best spot for lunch ahead of the pack. For going a bit farther, faster, to reach the best diving. For being the last yacht to leave the bay on a Sunday evening and still getting back to the dock first.

And the Italian builder’s 9x is pure Pershing. A pair of 2,638 hp 16V 2000 M96L MTUs hooked up to Top System surface drives deliver massive punch and a plume that can top 30 feet.” – Yachting, August 2018

The 133-foot Broward Kashmir, currently listed with Denison Yachting, just saw a $250,000 price improvement. The new asking price for the superyacht is $4.5 million. Originally delivered as a 105-foot motor yacht in 1995, Kashmir underwent an extensive refit in 2008 that included increasing its length overall by 28 feet.

The 133-footer has accommodations for up to 13 guests in its six-stateroom layout, which includes a main-deck master and five additional guest suites belowdecks. With 12 successful charters in 2022, Kashmir has a lot of potential as a charter yacht for its future owners.

This Broward’s flybridge can double as an additional enclosed entertainment space because of its Plexiglas doors that can enclose the area around the whirlpool spa. Forward and to starboard, up to eight guests can enjoy alfresco dining at a C-shaped settee and table, which is directly across from a wet bar with three fixed stools.

Its flybridge also has tender and PWC stowage abaft the whirlpool spa, where its 2012 18-foot tender and two 2021 Yamaha WaveRunners are stowed–all three of which are included with the sale. When the water toys are deployed, the flybridge’s aft deck becomes a great sunbathing space.

The salon comfortably seats eight with a six-person sofa to port and two loose chairs positioned around a coffee table. Waist-to-ceiling windows, neutral colors, mahogany furnishings, and a 60-inch flat-screen TV combine to make a nice spot for casual conversation.

Forward of the salon is the formal dining space where an eight-person table awaits guests. The table can be expanded to fit up to 12.

The galley, located forward of the salon, is equipped with enough counter space for several chefs to prepare meals. It’s also equipped with: GE Monogram 27-inch built-in electric double ovens, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. A Fisher & Paykel dual-drawer dishwasher. A Viking professional range hood and cooktop. And a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer combo, a wine cooler and more refrigerator and freezer drawers.

Forward of the galley is the main-deck master stateroom, which is equipped with a forward-facing king berth, a flat-screen TV, a walk-in wardrobe and a his-and-hers en suite head with the space separated by a whirlpool spa.

The five guest staterooms belowdecks are all en suites too. Two king-berth staterooms are located aft. Forward and to port are two smaller staterooms where, thanks to Pullman berths, one sleeps three and the other sleeps two. The forepeak VIP has a queen-size berth.

Kashmir has a reported cruising speed of 12 knots and a 16-knot top-end speed thanks to the 3,200 hp provided by twin 1,600 hp Caterpillar C-32 Acert diesels, both of which received a top-end overhaul in January 2019 by Caterpillar. According to Denison, both engines have a transferable “CAT Platinum Plus” warranty with no deductible that’s valid through January 2024.

Kashmir‘s upper helm station is equipped with three Stidd chairs, and the pilothouse helm has a one-seat station with additional bench seating to port. Other notable features include: Naiad Zero Speed Stabilizers, an Intellian S100HD, an Intellian V100, two Icom M604 with Loudhailers, two Furuno Navnet VX2 25kw, Simrad AP 50, two 99 kW Onan generators (newly rebuilt with zero hours), a NAIAD Thruster Control Simon system and panel and two Miele Professional washers and two Miele Professional dryers.

Hakvoort Tempo Reale
The 112-foot Tempo Reale can reportedly hit 34 knots and carries 6,600 gallons of fuel. Asking price is $3.7 million. Courtesy Denison Yachting

Hakvoort is not a shipyard that most yachtsmen think of when it comes to fishing. Founded in 1919 in the Netherlands, the Hakvoort yard has been known for superyachts since the 1980s, with recent launches including the 200-foot Top Five II in 2021 and the 148-foot Milele in 2023.

But back in 1990, an owner commissioned Hakvoort to build this 112-footer as the “ultimate sporting tender” to a superyacht. Tempo Reale is now in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and listed for sale on its own with Denison Yachting. The asking price is $3.7 million.

Sales brokers Bruce Schattenburg and Scott Lacroix say Tempo Reale is an ideal vessel for the Bahamas or other shallow-water destinations, thanks to its jet drives and 4-foot-10-inch draft. The vessel’s hull is aluminum, helping to keep weight down.

According to the brokers, cruising speed is 25 knots with a top hop of 34 knots, thanks to MTU power plants in the engine room. Fuel capacity is 6,660 gallons for longer runs out to the canyons in search of big game.

Recent upgrades to Tempo Reale include a Control4 “smart home” integration system throughout the yacht; a Kaleidescape movie server; a Garmin navigation suite; LED lighting; Starlink internet; and new televisions and carpeting.

The cockpit is oversized for sportfishing and watersports, with a hydraulic swim platform for easy access to the water by swimmers, snorkelers and scuba divers. Cocktail tables are here too, for parents who want to relax on board while keeping an eye on the kids in the water.

Inside on the main deck are a salon and dining room, along with a stateroom that can be considered a master or VIP. There’s a second salon near the helm, giving guests panoramic views all around no matter whether the yacht is at anchor or underway. Another lounging space is up on the flybridge, which is sheltered from the elements by a hardtop. A second helm station is up there too, in addition to the indoor helm station.

There’s also guest seating on the foredeck, with a six-person hot tub. The location should help to block the gaze of prying eyes whenever Tempo Reale is tied up stern-to, Med-style.

Appliances in the galley are Miele, with a Maxx Ice machine to keep the cool cubes popping out all day long. The yacht also has Apple TV and a DirecTV satellite dome for helping guests stay entertained.

What’s the condition of Tempo Reale? The sales brokers call this yacht’s condition “exceptional,” adding that the “generous owner” and full-time crew have made sure the vessel is “lovingly maintained.”

The 97-foot Hargrave, Inevitable, is listed with Denison Yachting and has an asking price of $2.15 million. The 2003 build is a raised-pilothouse design that underwent a refit in 2012, and has an additional $1 million in upgrades since 2020.

The motor yacht has a four-stateroom, five-head layout, including a full-beam owners’ stateroom, two VIP staterooms, a day head on the main deck and accommodations for up to five crew. The full-beam master features a king berth, en suite head with a his-and-hers vanity and his-and-hers closets. The aft VIP stateroom has a queen berth with an en suite head, and the forward VIP stateroom has a queen island berth and an en suite head. The final guest stateroom, which is capable of sleeping three, is fitted with two twin berths as well as a twin Pullman berth.

Inevitable ’s salon has warm cherry wood and neutral tones throughout to create a sophisticated interior scheme.

When it comes to entertaining, the salon has a sofa to port with four loose chairs to create a comfortable conversation space. A formal dining area is located just forward of the salon’s lounge with seating for eight. Forward of the dining table is Inevitable ’s open country galley. With all-new stainless-steel appliances, a granite-topped island, 26-inch TV and a C-shaped dinette, it’s laid out for breakfast with family and friends before pulling the hook and cruising to the next waypoint..

Sliding glass doors off the salon lead to the cockpit, which is furnished with a bench seat, loose chairs and a table with room for eight to 10 guests for alfresco dining.

Stairs to starboard lead to the flybridge, which is laid out to accommodate a tender and PWC stowage aft. Abaft the triple Pompanette helm seats are settees and dining tables to port and starboard. The flybridge is also equipped with a grill, refrigerator and freezer.

Captains have two helm options: the upper helm at the aforementioned flybridge and a lower helm in the raised pilothouse, which can be accessed from starboard-side stairs aft of the galley. Abaft the raised-pilothouse helm station is bench seating, a chart table and stowage.

Where is Inevitable located? The yacht is currently located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Is This the Yacht of the Future? https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/yachts/project-pegasus-yacht-concept/ Fri, 24 Nov 2023 18:00:00 +0000 https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/?p=61381 Denison Yachting has officially listed the 288-foot Project Pegasus for sale. It would be a 3D-printed superyacht.

The concept of 3D printing is not new when it comes to boat and yacht construction, but Project Pegasus—unveiled at the start of 2023 and now listed for sale with Denison Yachting—is a bold vision of how the technology could be used to create an entire superyacht.

Several years ago, we reported about ways that builders worldwide were already embracing 3D printing for everything from boat molds to parts. We also noted that the IYRS School of Technology and Trades was teaching students the basics of 3D printing, setting up a future where ideas could become reality as the technology matured.

Italian designer Jozeph Forakis says that time is now, and the team of people surrounding him on the idea is getting bigger. Forakis’ 288-foot Project Pegasus concept yacht would be the world’s first 3D-printed, solar-electric/hydrogen hybrid superyacht, with zero emissions and with a “Tree of Life” hydroponic garden for fresh food and air purification.

Article At-A-Glance

  • The 288-foot Project Pegasus is a concept yacht that’s listed for sale with Denison Yachting.
  • Project Pegasus would be the world’s first 3D-printed, solar-electric/hydrogen hybrid superyacht.
  • The designer is Jozeph Forakis, who is based in Italy and known for his work with CL Yachts.
  • Lateral Naval Architects in the United Kingdom also worked on Project Pegasus.

The Project Pegasus Vision

Forakis says his goal with Project Pegasus was to create a zero-emissions yacht that seems invisible in terms of design and environmental impact. He did not create the concept yacht as a design showpiece that never has a chance to be built. “All her core technologies are based on today’s reality,” he says. “It’s only a matter of time before all yachts are made this way. Today, together with Denison and Lateral, we embark on a journey to accelerate towards that future.”

An ‘Audacious Challenge’

James Roy, managing director at Lateral Naval Architects, calls Project Pegasus “an audacious challenge in the field of structural engineering, energy architecture and manufacturing.” In fact, everyone involved with the project says it’s on the bleeding edge of what’s achievable today. Alex G. Clarke, the broker who represents the project at Denison Yachting, says the concept “pushes the boundaries of what is possible.”

Clarke added: “The smart technology surrounding it—from fuel cells to hydroponics providing fresh air and food, to zero emission and the use of glass and solar panels—is very inspiring to me. I do feel this is more than a concept, and I would love to see a shipyard or owner get involved to help make her a reality.”

How the Team Came Together

Forakis gives special thanks to Marisa Ronchi and Ottaviiano Iacono of SuperyachtOne for believing in the Project Pegasus concept and introducing him to the sales broker, Clarke, at Denison Yachting. “We couldn’t ask for a better foundational team to bring this dream to reality,” Forakis says.

Clarke is no stranger to embracing big, visionary concepts. He was the sales broker who did Denison’s first $10 million-plus bitcoin deal, and, more recently, he’s been talking about ways that technology surrounding nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, might become useful within the superyacht industry.

In that context, 3D-printing a whole superyacht seems quite down-to-earth. The technology at least creates something that people can touch and feel.

Using 3D printing, Project Pegasus would be created with a mesh framework, integrating the yacht’s hull and superstructure. Courtesy Denison Yachting

The Project Pegasus Design

It was big news in 2019 when the University of Maine created the world’s largest 3D-printed boat: a 25-footer called 3Dirigo. That team set three world records: for the largest 3D-printed solid part, the largest 3D-printed boat and the largest 3D printer.

Designing a 288-foot yacht that could be built from similar technology less than five years later is no small feat, but that’s what Project Pegasus purports to be.

The Framework

Robotic 3D printing would be used to create a mesh framework for Project Pegasus, integrating the yacht’s hull and superstructure. Forakis says the result would be “an extraordinarily strong and lightweight structure that can be produced using less energy, material, waste, space and time compared to conventional construction.”

The superstructure would have multi-tiered glass wings that reflect the clouds and sky. At certain angles and in certain lighting conditions, the lattice framework of the 3D-printed structure would become visible.

According to Forakis, “The dramatic, triangulated structure allows light to penetrate all levels of the interior while framing the remarkable views in all directions.”

The Reality of Technology

The whole team involved with Project Pegasus says it’s possible to achieve the vision with technology that exists today, but there is no denying the fact that some of that technology may need a bit more time to develop in order to make the yacht a reality.

As Roy, with Lateral Naval Architects, says: “We look forward to exploring the boundaries of feasibility, technology readiness and how these can be accelerated.”

Is Jozeph Forakis for Real?

Sometimes, yacht designers create audacious concepts just to get noticed. They might draw a yacht that looks like a spiderweb, or that could transform into a plane or a submersible. Their ideas are often based on imagination and not necessarily grounded in reality.

Forakis is different. He’s known as a visionary designer, but he’s also spent the past few years affiliated with one of the most respected builders of bluewater, go-anywhere vessels: CL Yachts, a subsidiary of Cheoy Lee.

Partnership with CL Yachts

Forakis’ partnership with CL Yachts was announced in 2019, after the builder brought him aboard to act as creative director for its next generation of yacht designs. Forakis was put in charge of exteriors and interiors on the vessels, starting with the CLX96.

Even back then, Forakis was using language that tapped into a desire to push boundaries in ways that were new for the yachting industry. He chose the color orange for the new CL Yachts brand and went on to explain why: “I am very strategic when it comes to these things. In our research, we found that, in the world of yachting, there are many ‘me too’ boat designs and many ‘me too’ brands and colors. Orange is young and energetic, and rarely seen amongst yacht or other luxury brands. This is part of our ’blue ocean strategy’ to communicate a true alternative in the market with an alternative, authentic vision.”

Forakis’ Real-Life CLB80

Most recently, CL Yachts announced its CLB80, with interiors and exteriors by Forakis—yet again proving that the designer knows how to turn ideas into reality. The boat will fall in the builder’s lineup between the CLB72 and the flagship CLB88.

CL Yachts says the creative process included emphasizing onboard comfort, rather than focusing solely on raw performance.

And with this design, too, Forakis pushed boundaries. “One distinctive aspect that sets this model apart is the evolution of the unique stepped side windows,” the builder says. “These carefully crafted windows not only infuse a modern touch but also enhance visibility, allowing natural light to flood into the living spaces.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to build Project Pegasus?

No timeframe has been established for construction, and, in some cases, the technology itself might have to be augmented before construction could begin.

Are hydroponics new on yachts?

At the scale of Project Pegasus, yes, but not in general. Some sailors have had hydroponic gardens aboard their yachts for years, to ensure the availability of fresh foods while cruising in remote destinations.

Is anyone building a zero-emissions yacht today?

Several companies are promoting these types of designs. One in-build version is the 226-foot Project Zero that Vitters is constructing in the Netherlands, with a sail plan that is projected to generate power equivalent to a modern wind turbine.

Does Jozeph Forakis, the designer of Project Pegasus, only design yachts?

Nope. He works in many spheres, including housewares, lighting and wearable tech.

Denison Yachting says the owner of the Nordhavn 96 Lacey Kay is now asking $10.2 million for the yacht, which is lying in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Lacey Kay is the third hull that was built of the Nordhavn 96, a model that evolved as a larger version of the Nordhavn 86. The current owner of Lacey Kay commissioned the yacht with an eye toward being able to run with minimal crew (or no crew) and to travel what Denison calls “big, open oceans.”

The owner built Lacey Kay with additional fuel tanks, creating an overall fuel capacity of 9,575 gallons. At a speed of 9 knots, the yacht burns 20 gallons per hour, according to Denison’s team. Maximum speed is 12 knots.

Also notable is that Lacey Kay has the master stateroom on the second deck, a custom layout choice.

What kind of range can Lacey Kay achieve? According to Denison, range is 3,000 nautical miles at 9 knots.
