Feadship Sea Owl
The world just got its first view of the new 203-foot Sea Owl when Feadship moved the yacht from inside the shipyard to the light of day. The Dutch builder says the onboard security system is possibly the most elaborate ever built into a yacht, and that because the owners desire privacy, precious few details about_ Sea Owl_ are going to be released.
What we can report is that_ Sea Owl_ has a jade mist green steel hull with an oyster white aluminum superstructure, both of which surround what Feadship says is arguably the most personalized interior that it has ever constructed. “We believe she is quite possibly the most customized 62-meter yacht ever built,” owners’ representative Anthony Sands of Edge Yachts stated in a press release.
Alas, neither Edge Yachts nor Feadship are saying much more, but they did announce that the exterior includes “a wealth of varnished wood” while the interior boasts an “extraordinarily detailed selection of hand carved pieces, sculptures, petrified wood items and marbles.” There are two kids’ cabins onboard along with a “thematic decorative scheme” designed to appeal to the younger generation. We’ll all have to let our imaginations fill in the blanks between those bits of information, since Andrew Winch Designs, which handled both exterior and interior styling, is also keeping mum on any further insights.
Basic specs for Sea Owl show that she has a 40-foot beam, a 12-foot, 2-inch draft, a pair of 16V4000 M53R MTU engines, Quantum zero-speed stabilizers, and a pair of 27-foot tenders, one a sport boat and the other a limousine design. The handful of released specs also suggest that the two children’s cabins might be part of a larger master suite, in addition to three guest cabins and one nanny cabin. There are also accommodations for 18 crew.
