Wally recently debuted its wallypower50, expanding upon the builder’s series-launching wallypower58 and wallypower58x models. According to yacht builder, the wallypower50 blends the open design elements of its wallytender line as well as the extra space found on the wallytender58 yachts.

High-performing vessels are a Wally trademark, and to that end the wallypower50 is powered with twin 480 hp Volvo Penta IPS650 diesels. Wally reports this propulsion setup gives the yacht a 36-knot top-end speed and a 30-knot cruise speed. Like the outboard-powered wallypower58x, there is a wallypower50x model and it’s offered with either quad 400 hp Mercury outboards or quad 500 hp outboards. With the 400s, the builder says top hop is around 48 knots and it’s 50-plus knots with the 500s. The wallypower50’s deep-V hull form and plumb-bow should effectively dice and slice the chop.

Wallys are also known for maximizing onboard livability. With the wallypower50, there are two cockpit sun pads flanking a walkway on centerline. Foldout terraces expand the cockpit’s real estate by about 65 square feet. The cockpit is teak, making it comfortable for bare feet on warm days. Additionally, there is a retractable stairway in the swim platform for seamless water access. More sunning space is at the foredeck with an additional sun pad that has adjustable headrests.

Under the wallypower50’s hardtop, an L-shaped seating arrangement and dining table is to port creating the scene for alfresco meals. There is a bench seat to starboard. Total seating accommodations are for about eight guests. A helm station is forward and to port, and is equipped with two helm seats.

Belowdecks, there is a double berth in the forepeak as well as a full head with a shower for cruisers looking to spend a weekend, or longer, on the water. There is a galley for simple meal prep and a settee for lounging.

New Yachts from European Builders

Benetti and Azimut will be bringing their Italian-built yachts to the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, while the Ferretti Group’s Wally brand will be present with its Monaco-based flair. Benetti will display the 112-foot Oasis 34M Ubiquitous, while Azimut will be showing four models in the United States for the first time, and Wally will be featuring the wallywhy150.

Benetti Oasis 34M Ubiquitous

The Benetti Oasis 34M Ubiquitous is scheduled to make its US debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This is a 112-foot fiberglass motoryacht with exteriors by RWD in Britain and interiors by the New York firm Bonetti & Kozerski. The stern on Ubiquitous has Benetti’s Oasis Deck, which includes two wings that open to enlarge the space. An infinity pool is here as well, and the space adjoins the main-deck salon to give guests the option of sun-drenched or shaded spaces for relaxation.

Also at the show: Benetti will showcase the B.Yond 37M Never Say Never Again. It’s a 121-foot motoryacht from architect Stefano Righini with an E-Mode Hybrid system from Siemens Energy. The idea is to reduce harmful emissions while giving owners the option of four operating modes, including a fully electric mode for zero-emissions cruising.

Four New Yachts from Azimut

Azimut will have four yachts making their Americas premiere at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: the Verve 48 outboard, Magellano 60, Grande 36M and S7.

The Verve 48 outboard is a sport boat for weekends, designed in collaboration with Francesco Struglia. Its power is triple 600 hp Mercury outboards that promise a top speed of 50 knots. The stern has been updated from previous models; it now includes “the most extensive swim platform ever,” according to Azimut.

Crossover appeal is at the heart of the Magellano 60, with features intended for longer-distance cruising. For sustainability, the Azimut Magellano 60 can be delivered with HVOlution, a biofuel produced by Eni Sustainable Mobility. Azimut says this fuel, when combined with the shipyard’s semi-planing Dual Mode hull, can reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by more than 80 percent compared to yachts using traditional fuel.

With the Grande 36M, Azimut is showcasing a semi-walkaround upper deck that runs on the same level from the stern almost to the tip of the bow. The idea is to create an area that didn’t exist before on boats this size. Exterior design on the Azimut Grande 36M is by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Achille Salvagni.

The Azimut S7 is a 72-foot yacht built with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion and a “super-lightweight” hull for a sporty ride. Azimut says the S7 also reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions by as much as 30 percent compared to shaft-line boats with traditional chine hulls. Exteriors are by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Yachtique.

The wallywhy150 is also expected to be on display at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, following its international debut at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival in France.

This 78-foot motoryacht can be ordered with triple Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines for a maximum speed of 23 knots. With the standard Volvo Penta IPS1200s, that figure is 21 knots. Exterior spaces include a completely open upper deck with dining, sunbathing and a shaded lounge. Inside, there’s sole-to-ceiling glass for great views, with a main-deck master stateroom as well as guest staterooms belowdecks. The yacht can be ordered with a VIP and two guest staterooms, or with twin VIPs.

New Yachts from the UK, Turkey, Poland, Australia and China

Princess Yachts and Sunseeker International, both in the United Kingdom, will have new yachts at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Also from overseas will be new models from the Turkish builder Sirena Yachts, Polish builders Sunreef and Galeon, Australian builders Maritimo and Riviera, and China-based Aquila Power Catamarans and Ocean Alexander.

Princess Yachts Y95

The Princess Yachts Y95 is the new flagship of the builder’s Y Class series, which features open-flybridge models 72 feet and larger. This 95-footer can reportedly achieve a top hop of 24 knots, thanks to the twin 2,000 hp MAN V-12 engines, and it has a full-beam master stateroom on the main deck that lets in extra natural light through skylights. Guests are accommodated in four belowdecks staterooms. Draft is 6 feet, 6 inches, making the Princess Y95 a yacht that allows for access to the world’s most beautiful harbors.

Sunseeker Ocean 182

The Sunseeker Ocean 182, which was also displayed at the Newport International Boat Show, is an 88-foot yacht that is the fifth model in the builder’s Ocean series. It has an enclosed, air-conditioned flybridge that is home to the only helm station on board. Power is a pair of 1,650 hp or 1,900 hp MAN V-12s, with the builder promising a top speed of 27 knots. At a cruise speed of 12 knots, range is reportedly 1,800 nautical miles. All the guest accommodations are belowdecks: an amidships, full-beam master along with four guest staterooms.

Sirena 78

Turkish builder Sirena Yachts is bringing the Sirena 78 to the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Its design is by Cor D. Rover and Germán Frers, with the builder reporting a top speed of 27 knots as well as a cruising range of 1,550 nautical miles. Some of the key design features include a versatile flybridge with customizable spaces and sizable guest accommodations.

The Superpowered Princess X80

Princess Yachts is also bringing its X80 explorer motoryacht to the Fort Lauderdale show. Along with 31-knot speed and four en suite staterooms, the X80 has what the builder calls a “super flybridge.” Princess says this deck is 30 percent bigger than other flybridges on similarly sized flybridge yachts. This space has four gathering areas, including two sun pads forward, a wet bar aft and an L-shaped settee with a dining table to port. The X80’s main deck is dedicated entirely to socializing, with an L-shaped settee accompanied by a dining table forward.

Galeon 450 HTC

The big premiere from Galeon Yachts at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be the Galeon 450 HTC. It’s a Tony Castro design that can be ordered with an optional hydraulic swim platform and an optional third stateroom for guests. The standard layout is two staterooms with two heads, including a full-beam master. This yacht has a 4-foot, 3-inch draft that allows it to access skinny waters in locations like the Bahamas. Power is a pair of 480 hp Volvo Penta D6 engines.

80 Sunreef Power Eco

Polish builder Sunreef Yachts will be making a big show of the first 80 Sunreef Power Eco, which has been christened SÓL (after the Norse sun goddess). Sunreef is heralding this vessel as the most advanced electric luxury catamaran in the world, with a “solar skin” built into the hull, and the biggest battery bank in its category of recreational yachts. Maritimo M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht

Maritimo’s M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht will make its US debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Its hull has a variable deadrise with a deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft, all intended for comfortable and efficient offshore cruising. Standard power is twin 800 hp Volvo Penta D13s. Owners also can opt for 1,000 hp Volvo Pentas or 1,150 hp Scania Di16s.

Riviera 585 SUV: Does It All

Riviera says its multi-uses 585 SUV represents the “culmination of 10 years of evolution and the launch of more than 220 SUV yachts.” The yacht has three staterooms and three heads with a full-beam master amidships. In addition to its cruising, water-sports and angling flexibility, the 585 SUV is entertainment-centric with its sizable cockpit and semi-enclosed alfresco deck. Power is a pair of 900 hp Volvo Penta IPS1200s or 1,000 hp Volvo Penta IPS1350s. For flybridge enthusiasts, the builder is also debuting its 46 Sports Motor Yacht.

Aquila 47 Molokai

Built in China, the Aquila 47 Molokai is the latest model from Aquila Power Catamarans. It’s outfitted for offshore cruising and fishing, with an en suite stateroom that’s air-conditioned and a queen-size berth. The design and build are a collaboration of Sino Eagle Yachts and Peart Yacht Design.

Ocean Alexander 32 Legend: Crewed-Yacht Living

The Ocean Alexander 32 Legend is a 120-foot superyacht penned by Evan K. Marshall, notable for its sole-to-ceiling glass across three decks, allowing for ocean vista from most points on board. From its seaside beach club to its foredeck lounge, rest and relaxation is at the forefront of this yacht’s design. Off the cockpit, power doors slide away allowing guests to enter the open-plan salon, which benefits from the aforementioned glass, enabling light to flood the space. Built in the USA: Viking 90

The Viking 90 made its official debut earlier this year at the Miami International Boat Show, but Hull No. 1 is still on its premiere-year tour. It’s been turning anglers’ heads out on the fishing circuit, hauling in big catch. All expectations are that it will continue to impress show-goers at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Viking 90: Ultimate Fishability

The Viking 90 has a fuel capacity of 3,801 gallons in four tanks, which gives the yacht long legs for getting to and from the canyons to chase big game. Thrill-seekers, rejoice. Wally’s new wallypower58X combines the luxury and comfort of the inboard wallypower58 (which debuted at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival) with the muscle of outboard power. Using quad 600 hp Mercury Verado V-12 engines, the Italian builder says the wallypower58X can reach 50 knots and can cruise at 42 knots for 320 nautical miles. This 57-footer made its world debut at the recent Palm Beach International Boat Show.

While the outboard engines will garner most boaters’ initial looks, the rest of the after section of the wallypower58X has a lot to offer. Here, there’s a four-person sun pad with cushions that allows for forward-facing seating or aft-facing lounging by the sea. At the touch of a button, an electrically actuated awning rises to provide protection from the elements. This space is further enhanced when the bulwarks to port and starboard fold outward, creating a 269-square-foot beach club with room for modular furniture and guests.

And, like the wallytender48X and wallytender43X siblings, the wallypower58X has a hydraulic passerelle on centerline for easy boarding.

Farther forward, there are two sofas beneath the cockpit hardtop: one to starboard and one to port. The starboard-side seating is accompanied by a dinette. Forward of the portside seating, there is a customizable galley. Here, the hardtop can open for ventilation, or, for chillier outings, the cockpit can be fully enclosed and heated.

Follow the side decks forward, and there is an additional sun lounge on the foredeck. In total, Wally says, 12 to 16 people can comfortably fit on the wallypower58X’s main deck.

Standard accommodations belowdecks include a forepeak master stateroom with a queen-size berth and an en suite head to starboard. Centerline stairs lead down from the main deck to what Wally calls a “full-beam double salon” with sofas to port and starboard. The day head, with a separate shower, is to port. Owners can also opt to convert the portside salon into a guest stateroom that has direct access to the day head.

To maintain the brand’s trademark exterior lines, and for further protection and privacy, this boat has what Wally calls magic portholes: 55-inch flat-screen TVs that relay external views via hullside cameras.

I don’t normally pay much attention to taglines, but Wally’s current one—“20 years ahead”—is an exception. Remember the WallyPower 118? It was Wally founder Luca Bassani’s personal vision of what superyachting could be. It launched 20 years ago but still looks like it’s only just dropped in from outer space. Then there are the various smaller wallypowers that have launched since, the new wallywhys that are phasing in now, and the various iterations of wallytenders, the first of which caused a stir more than 25 years ago. All carry the same futuristic design cues. And who would argue that the new wallypower58 doesn’t look like it’s 20 years ahead of the game too?

The wallypower58 has a distinct aesthetic with a square stem; a clean, hard-chined hull; and a sharp, mostly glass superstructure. The high foredeck has deck lighting and flush sun-pad inlays, and a cockpit Wally calls a semi-open salon. That last space has hardtop protection above as well as full side glazing to plug the gaps between the roof and deck. Overall, the hull volume allocates guest spaces roughly 50-50 inside and outside.

Tanks, engines and pods are beneath the cockpit sole, and there’s carbon-fiber detailing and teak decking everywhere. The decking is particularly impressive where it wraps over the after lip of the swim platform and where it lines the bulwarks. Their after sections fold down to add around 54 square feet of deck space. The whole open-deck area then provides something like 325 square feet of space.

The star attraction aft is a 77-square-foot island sun bed with an awning stretched over a carbon-fiber frame that stows neatly around the base unit. Amidships beneath the coachroof, there’s around 6-foot-9-inch headroom and sofas down each side. The starboard one has a dining table that can be supplemented by free-standing chairs. The forward area beneath the one-piece curved and heavily back-raked windshield includes two high-backed carbon pilot seats to starboard that address a small-diameter horizontal wheel. They look like they could have been plucked from the starship Enterprise.

As with most open models, the accommodations closure is a sliding hatch inboard of the helm, which is nicely arranged with all the switches and instrumentation set into carbon-look moldings. Two Garmin displays dominate the console, where visibility is superb. An electric sunroof above the windshield provides natural ventilation when the air-conditioning is off.

The standard belowdecks arrangement includes a lower salon with two long sofas—one on either side, a head to starboard and a stall shower to port. Forward, there is a stateroom with an aft-facing double berth. The lockers and closets have a rather 1950s luggage look about them, a great contrast to the ultramodern vibe everywhere else.

A smaller, double-berth stateroom with a door, or a single crew cabin with hatch access from the cockpit, are the options on the port side of the lower salon, which also includes a surprise: Instead of hullside windows, this model has what Wally calls magic portholes. Two 55-inch flat-screen TVs can relay real-time images from cameras in the vessel’s sides, or the TVs can relay recordings of the owner’s favorite bay when he’s tied up at the dock, or the TVs can play movies or games. This setup keeps the 58’s sleek hull lines pristine and is more efficient to build, as real windows require significant structures around the apertures as well as laminated glass.

There are two choices when it comes to propulsion: triple Volvo Penta D8-550/IPS700s or triple D8-600/IPS800s, which deliver reported maximum speeds of 35 to 36 knots and 37 to 38 knots, respectively. The boat I got aboard had the most-powerful, 470-cubic-inch, six-cylinder inline diesels, which, at a bit more than half load and in auto-trim mode with the Seakeeper 9 off, delivered virtually 38 knots at just over 2,900 rpm. Wallys always run every bit as well as they look, slicing efficiently and heeling into the turns just enough.

At an all-day, everyday 30 knots at 2,500 rpm, the ultimate range is around 350 nautical miles, much the same as it would be at 20 knots and 2,000 rpm, so there’s no real incentive to cruise halfheartedly with this machine. The onboard management system synchronizes the propulsion of all three pods while in ahead mode, so with only the usual twin control levers at the helm, the skipper drives the boat just like he would if the boat had a twin-engine installation. When maneuvering astern, those two levers only engage the outer engines.

At the heart of a Wally build is style, performance, luxury and a bit of avant-garde thinking. It’s a formula that has made the brand a fan favorite, creating a niche that only it can own. And the wallypower58 owns it well.

The X Factor

The first Wally 58X version recently arrived in Florida. This iteration has quad 600 hp V-12 Mercury Verado outboards, which means a top-end speed of around 50 knots and a quoted fast-cruise range of 290 nautical miles. Normally, aboard an open yacht of this size with a quad rack, owners have to sacrifice some accessibility to the water aft, but fold-down quarter platforms are game-changers in that regard.

On Watch

Wally’s parent company, the Ferretti Group, used the launch of the wallypower58 to say it will soon be one of the first yachtbuilders to offer Watchit anti-collision and grounding systems across its portfolio. Developed by Israeli company Aqua Marine Tech, these systems warn captains about navigational dangers. The tech’s artificial-intelligence technology interprets data from GPS, chart plotters, AIS, radar, sonar, proximity sensors and more.

Wally showed off its wallywhy150 in Venice, Italy, in early June ahead of the model’s official world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this autumn.

The wallywhy150 is by the Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering team, with Studio Vallicelli Design for interior design. The 78-foot yacht is a raised pilothouse design.

“Our goal was to anticipate market demands, developing a yacht capable, once again, of being ahead of its time, starting from those innovative features that made the wallywhy200 successful,” Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s managing director, stated in a press release. “With its 24-meter length and 150 gross tons, the wallywhy150 is a flexible yacht, ideal for experienced owners who fully understand and appreciate the skillful use of space, the considerable living areas and its unmistakable personality.”

Design features include an open upper deck suitable for dining, sunbathing or lounging; sole-to-ceiling glass inside; and an aft deck that can be outfitted to carry a 12-foot, 8-inch tender.

The master stateroom is forward on the main deck with 270-degree panoramic views. Additional accommodations are belowdecks, configured as a VIP with two guest staterooms, or as two VIP staterooms.

Ready to drop the hammer? Wally says the optional triple Volvo Penta IPS1350 setup gives the wallywhy150 a maximum speed of 23 knots. That figure drops to 21 knots with the standard triple Volvo Penta IPS1200s.

Wally has launched the wally101 Full Custom, a yacht inspired by the Wallycento box-rule design.  

“Following Baron D, Nahita and the Wally 144 Full Custom of the last few years, this is the 48th full-carbon sailing superyacht built by Wally, continuing the company’s remarkable contribution to the advancement of sailing design and technology,” Stefano de Vivo, Wally managing director, stated in a press release. “Launching a fully custom 101-footer is a great milestone for us, which demonstrates once again the ability of Wally and Ferretti Group to always place themselves at the forefront, even in the competitive market of sailing superyachts.”

According to the builder, the yacht displaces 55 tons, almost 15 percent less than similar-size yachts. Carbon-fiber technology, including a high-tech sandwich composite with pre-preg carbon fiber, helps to keep weight down.

Naval architecture is by judel/vrolijk & co., with exterior and interior design by Wally and Studio Santa Maria Magnolfi.

Features include the Wally Enhanced Hydraulic System, which has multiple hydraulic pumps to speed up sail handling.

Wally, part of the Ferretti Group, says it has partnered with Sonus faber and McIntosh to create “immersive sound experiences” on board the wallywhy200.

According to Wally, it’s the first time the other brands have offered a high-performance, custom-installation system for the marine market.

“Entering the marine industry has been top of mind for us for quite some time” Fiore Cappelletto, vice president and general manager of automotive and marine at McIntosh Group, stated in a press release. “After gaining experience in the automotive industry, paired with our company’s consistent development of quality performance custom installation audio (as we lovingly call Ci-Fi), the time felt right to enter the exhilarating market, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have found a perfect ally in Wally.”

Roberto Gamba, business developer CI at McIntosh Group, said the idea is to integrate the audio system into custom furniture, walls and cabinets.

Ferretti Yachts 860

Flybridge designs are fundamental to the Ferretti Yachts DNA, and this one sticks with the winning formula. The after half of the flybridge is open to interpretation, with a hot tub option, while the standard layout forward includes a dinette for eight guests, a sun pad to port, and a wet bar and two-seat helm station to starboard. Hargrave 105

[Mike] Joyce is the CEO of Hargrave Custom Yachts, whose latest 105, Irresistible, exemplifies numerous ways the builder tailors its designs to what each owner wants.

Irresistible, for instance, has a raised pilothouse, creating an all-weather backup to the flybridge helm. The bridge is open, but it’s shaded by the fiberglass hardtop, rather than having a sky lounge on board. That’s already a lot of personalization based on the starting point of a new Jack Sarin-designed hull that tops out at 21 knots and cruises at 18 knots. In addition, this owner was planning 1,000-nautical-mile voyages, so he opted for twin 1,600 hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesels. Irresistible reportedly has a 2,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Ocean Alexander 35R

… Yachtsmen began to learn that gross tonnage was more important than feet and inches in terms of the creature comforts they wanted.

The 116-foot-9-inch Ocean Alexander 35R, whose gross tonnage is just shy of 300, is the latest model to demonstrate both points. Hull No. 1 was commissioned by a client before the shipyard could exhibit the yacht, and Hull No. 2 sold quickly during its debut at the [2021] Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida. As of early December [2021], Hull No. 7 was the first available build slot, with delivery anticipated in 2024. Dynamiq GTT 135

In the pilothouse, Dynamiq worked with German vehicle outfitter Klassen to develop a bespoke wheelhouse, finished in the same quality and style of the company’s luxury shuttle vans (think sporty trim and high-end finishes). The five-stateroom layout is accented in soft-gold and mother-of-pearl flourishes. Wally WHY200

Why WHY200? The acronym stands for Wally Hybrid Yachts, which has nothing to do with hybrid propulsion, but rather a hull designed for a range of displacement and semi-displacement cruising speeds. And the numerals don’t reference length. They reflect the approximate volume (199 gross tons), which is a lot for a yacht with a length overall of just 89 feet.

Royal Huisman Project 406

Project 406 has a length overall of 171 feet. That means the vessel will dwarf not only the most sizable 80- to 105-footers from well-known sport-fish builders—such as Viking Yachts, Bayliss Boatworks and Jim Smith Tournament Boats—but also the behemoth one-off sport-fishers such as the 144-foot Trinity Bad Company, 130-foot McMullen & Wing Mea Culpa and 129-foot Yachting Developments Lanakai. Sanlorenzo SL106 Asymmetric

The idea behind the Asymmetric line dates back several years. Sanlorenzo was wrestling with how to provide owners with more usable interior space. An initial idea was a widebody design, in which the main-deck interior spans the yacht’s full beam. Sanlorenzo quickly decided that wasn’t practical for smaller to midsize superyachts. So, [Sanlorenzo CEO Massimo] Perotti sought the input of designer Chris Bangle, with whom Sanlorenzo has been working since 2015. Bangle is known for shaking up the designs of Fiat and BMW. He came up with the notion of a widebody to one side to benefit owners along with a full side deck opposite, as well as an over-the-widebody passage from the flybridge to the bow to benefit the crew. — Diane M. Westport 112

At first, the owner thought he and his family would use the 112-foot Hannah without making any changes. Then, his wife looked at it.

“The original idea was just to change a few things inside, but you start one thing, and you say, ‘Why don’t you do the next one?’” he says. “We kept going and going and going.”

After buying the Westport yacht in early 2020, the owner brought in Destry Darr Designs for the refit. She ended up orchestrating a total overhaul, finishing the project at the end of 2020. Hargrave ‘Baba’s’

These days, many shipyards tell buyers they can design their yachts the way they see fit, but some of those same builders actually offer semicustom yachts. Some, arguably, are more production than semicustom. Clients have two, maybe three choices for general arrangements, for example, and the exterior styling is set in stone. Fewer permit moving nonstructural bulkheads. Much of the time, the systems and engine packages are nonnegotiable.

That was not the case with Baba’s.

Hargrave saw the challenge as a way to prove its mettle to would-be owners outside the United States. “This is the connection to the global market we never had,” says Michael Joyce, Hargrave’s CEO. The yard also let [Sam] Shalem—a longtime owner of a real-estate-development and -management company who is accustomed to assembling teams—play a large role in choosing craftsmen to work on the project. This father of four and grandfather to even more (baba means “grandfather” in several cultures) was hands-on in nearly all aspects, ranging from gathering the workers to specifying the systems to selecting the mosaics in the interior. — Diane M. Rybovich 94

Throw out any preconceived notions you may have about sport-fishing yachts—even large ones. III Amigos—a 94-footer from the consortium of boatbuilder Michael Rybovich, designer Patrick Knowles and an experienced owner—is far more mega-yacht than most fishing machines.

III Amigos was born in a peculiar fashion. Its owner, who spends 50 to 60 days a year fishing, first approached Rybovich but, before signing, asked Knowles to do a dizzying collection of realistic renderings to show the final result. Y.CO has welcomed the 88-foot Wally Alexandra to the charter fleet, with bookings available this winter in the Bahamas and Caribbean.

For summer 2023, the yacht is expected to relocate to the West Mediterranean.

Alexandra is a 2018 build that accommodates six or seven guests in three staterooms. There are four crew on board.

Y.CO says the yacht is a “seriously stylish, highly bespoke example” of the 27 wallyace.

“Her onboard living areas provide an idyllic setting for guests to relax and unwind, and her spectacular master cabin is a particular highlight,” Y.CO charter manager Yasmine Naitijja stated in a press release.

Riviera 465 SUV: Expanding the SUV Line

The Riviera 465 SUV is a new-for-2022 model that should appeal to cruisers, anglers and watersports enthusiasts alike. The boat brings Riviera’s SUV line to seven models, starting with the 395 and going up to the 645. The Australian builder worked with 4D Designs to create the 465 SUV, which has three staterooms, two heads and a covered outdoor deck that expands the living space in the salon. The hardtop overhang has a pair of electric sliding sunroofs for even more fresh air on board. The galley is aft and to starboard, with the helm immediately forward of it. Twin 12-inch Garmin Glass Cockpit displays and CZone digital switching are here, along with joystick control for the boat. Siren Marine remote monitoring is also available.

X30 Villa: Extra’s First Powercat

Extra Yachts is part of the Palumbo Superyachts family of brands, which also includes ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts and Mondo Marine. The Extra brand, known for motoryachts, is now expanding into power catamarans with its first model of that type: the all-aluminum X30 Villa. Interior and exterior design are by the Dutch studio Phathom. The Extra X30 Villa is built with a hybrid propulsion system that reduces harmful emissions and allows for quiet electric-power cruising. Glass-impregnated solar panels are built in to help reduce the need for fuel use, and the interior is constructed with sustainable materials such as repurposed fibers, alternative leathers and reclaimed woods.

wallywind110: Carbon-Fiber Cruiser-Racer

Wally, long known for sailboats and original styling, has created a new wallywind range for owners who want to combine long-distance cruising with performance sailing. The first hull of the wallywind110, with naval architecture by judel/vrolijk & co, is scheduled to launch in May 2024. “The boat is ideal for an experienced sailor—maybe someone who has had boats in the 60- to 80-foot range and is now willing to make the jump to the 100-foot size range to get the extra comforts,” says Wally Managing Director Stefano de Vivo. Owners can choose among three keel types: fixed, telescopic or high-tech lifting. Features include Wally’s underwater anchoring system and Magic Trim hydraulic system for the main and jib sheets.

CRN Ciao: A Custom Aluminum Design

CRN, part of Ferretti Group in Italy, delivered the superyacht Ciao in July. Made entirely of aluminum, the custom build was created in collaboration with Omega Architects, which conceived the external lines, and Massari Design, which was responsible for the outdoor guest areas and interiors. Ciao has four decks and accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, including a main-deck master. The near-vertical bow gives the yacht a sporty look, while full-height tinted glazing on the main and upper decks provides guests with uninterrupted views of the sea. Ciao has alfresco dining on the upper deck and versatile lounge areas for guest relaxation on the sun deck and main deck.

Sirena 78: Long-Range Comfort

Sirena Yachts debuted its latest motoryacht—the Sirena 78—at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The yacht has a semidisplacement hull form from German Frers with an interior design by Cor D. Rover. Owners can choose an open, a semi-enclosed or a fully enclosed flybridge setup. Belowdecks are four staterooms, all with en suite heads, including a full-beam master amidships, a forepeak VIP as well as twin guest staterooms. There are three twin-diesel-engine options from MAN, ranging in horsepower from 1,400 to 1,800. Depending on engine selection, the Sirena 78’s top speed runs from 23 to 27 knots. Cruising speed: 16 knots. At 10 knots, the builder reports a maximum range of 1,480 nautical miles.
