Hylas Yachts says its first Hylas M47 with outboard diesel engines has arrived in the United States. It’s an adaptation of the twin-diesel inboard Hylas M44, with that boat’s engines replaced by twin Cox CXO300 diesel outboards.

This high-end fishing yacht is available for purchase, with eight build slots at the shipyard available for 2024.

According to the builder, this Hylas M47 tops out at 31 knots and cruises at 17 knots with a fuel burn of 15 gallons per hour at 2,500 rpm. With the standard four-blade props and 475-gallon fuel capacity, the M47 has a maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles. With the optional 700-gallon tanks, the range can extend to 1,500 nm. Sharrow propellers are also optional.

“Not only are the diesel outboards more efficient, but Cox offers a five-year, 1,500-hour warranty and rates the engines to 6,000 hours of operation,” according to Hylas Yachts. “The M-Series yachts are particularly attractive to sailors converting from sailing yachts to powerboats, as diesel engines are familiar to them, and the fundamentals of the diesel engine remain the same.”

Other standard features include lithium-ion batteries and an HVAC system from Thermodynamica, enabling generator-free operation of the environmental system.

The Hylas M47’s layout includes two staterooms and one head with a separate stall shower. The master has a queen-size berth, while the amidships guest stateroom has a convertible berth along with a bunk-style Pullman berth.

At the helm, standard equipment includes a Raymarine multifunction display, autopilot, electronic controls, and joystick controls for the outboards.

What are the primary specs on the Hylas M47? Beam is 13 feet, 6 inches, and draft is 2 feet, 6 inches. Displacement is 21,500 pounds.
