The Lyman-Morse shipyard in Maine hosted the debut of the LM46 Hopgrasser at the Newport International Boat Show in Rhode Island.

Hopgrasser is a cold-molded performance cruiser designed in collaboration with Kevin Dibley.

“Our first day of sail trials saw both 10 knots under power and 10 knots under sail,” Drew Lyman, president of Lyman-Morse, stated in a press release. “We are excited to get the boat fine-tuned to really see what she can do.”

Hull No. 2 of the LM46 is scheduled to launch later this fall, with Hull No. 3 already on the drawing table.

What else is new at Lyman-Morse? The yard’s partnership with C.W. Hood Yachts has led to the development of three powerboat designs from 35 to 57 feet length overall.
