Heesen Yachts in the Netherlands has delivered the 164-foot Home, the first yacht with a Heesen fast-displacement hull and hybrid propulsion.

Home is scheduled to make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Built in aluminum, Home exceeded her contractual maximum speed of 16.3 knots during sea trials in traditional diesel-engine mode, according to Heesen. In hybrid mode, which includes a pair of 127 kW water-cooled DC electric shaft motors, she cruises faster than 9 knots.

Notable fuel efficiency: At 12 knots, Home burns just 25 gallons of fuel per hour. In hybrid mode at 10 knots, that gph number drops to 11—a noteworthy achievement in a yacht with a gross tonnage of 499, and a displacement of 295 tons.
